João & Leira Camizão are a unique pair of characters, also reflected in the wines. Sem Igual or 100 Igual, as they are known on the Portuguese Wine-Scene, make vibrantly fresh wines, sometimes high in acidity, with distinct minerality. Whether white, Rosé or red, Pet-Nat, sparkling or more on the "Orange" side, Sem Igual`s biodynamic methods speak for themselves. As does their reputation. João Camizão`s family have been making wine since 1780 in Amarante and Sousa Sousa, a small subregion of the Vinho Verde. João`s motivation: deep appreciation for, and the will to preserve and honor his family’s winemaking heritage. Their vines - which are between 4 and 90+ years of age, reflect the combination of Old versus New, playing a key role to their success. Situated less than an hour from the City of Porto, the winery is easily accessable, also offering beautifully renovated traditional accommodation including a private outdoor pool. Excellent hosts with a personal touch.
